At Imbeke, we believe every woman deserves the opportunity to thrive. Our comprehensive programs address the unique challenges faced by vulnerable women in Homa Bay County, providing them with skills, support, and hope for a brighter future.
To establish, equip, and manage a community-based training centre where underprivileged youth and women can acquire vocational skills that foster self-reliance and sustainable livelihoods.
To improve the quality of life in poverty-stricken villages by addressing cultural and social barriers that limit women’s economic empowerment and potential.
To strengthen and support community groups in developing creative, income-generating activities that reduce stigma and challenge societal prejudice.
To promote the inclusion of vulnerable groups including persons with disabilities and PLWAs through proactive development initiatives that enhance dignity and opportunity.
To advocate for and promote women’s initiatives that advance gender equity and parity at both community and institutional levels.
Beyond vocational training, we actively work within communities to identify, support, and uplift vulnerable women and their families.
Comprehensive support for teenage mothers including prenatal care, parenting skills, and childcare while training.
Safe haven and rehabilitation for survivors of GBV, providing counseling, legal support, and skills training.
Regular visits to villages across Homa Bay County to identify and support vulnerable women and girls.
Educational programs on women's rights, health, and opportunities for empowerment in local communities.
The project supports vulnerable girls and teenage mothers who have escaped harsh conditions such as child labor, forced sex work, early marriage, and extreme poverty. These young women made the decision to transform their lives by enrolling in vocational training after receiving counseling from social and health workers. They joined the program through trusted channels including church leaders who helped facilitate access and build trust, women’s groups and affiliated local organizations, and youth peer educators who inspired and guided their involvement. Although many more girls are eager to participate, distance from the Center makes daily attendance impossible for some; to address this challenge, Imbeke has established a safe house where participants can stay and fully engage in the program. In addition, Imbeke welcomes mothers with babies or toddlers and provides suitable day and night accommodations tailored to the needs of both the mothers and their children.
Our holistic approach addresses the multifaceted needs of vulnerable women, creating sustainable pathways to independence and dignity.
Comprehensive vocational training in cosmetology, catering, fashion design, and computer studies to build marketable skills.
Empowering women to start their own businesses and achieve financial self-sufficiency through entrepreneurship training.
Creating supportive environments where vulnerable women can heal, learn, and grow without judgment.
Addressing physical, emotional, and mental health needs through counseling and wellness programs.
Your support can transform lives. Whether through donations, volunteering, or partnerships, you can help us create lasting change in the lives of vulnerable women in Homa Bay County.
Imbeke strives to be a leading vocational training center empowering youth and women with skills for self-reliance and community transformation.
